Spirit - Sols 1366 to 1369 - West Valley Anaglyph

500 sols or so ago Spirit was up on top of Home Plate looking down on the West Valley that she is currently trying to traverse. I made a 2D panorama back then from the images taken on sols 1366 to 1369. Now to help visualize the terrain Spirit is about to encounter here is a 3D version.

Spirit - Sol 1852 - Western Route

Beautiful image taken on sol 1852 in the direction Spirit is now headed - towards the west valley. On the left is the edge of Home Plate that Spirit is having driving around after not being able to get back on top. In the distance through a light haze of Martian dust is Grissom Hill.

Spirit - Bonestell Panorama - Colour Anaglyph with Flat Horizon

After posting the previous version of the 3D Bonestell panorama, a version with the horizon flattened has been requested. As I mentioned in the other thread, because of the way Spirit view the scene, it is best to view it in the 'rover frame' with a curved horizon. However this 'flattened' view is preferred by some, even if a few areas are harder to view and may be distorted.

You'll need a pair of red/blue 3D glasses to view this. My normal 2D version is here

To view this at full resolution, I found it is best to start by looking at a part of the image where the features are close together in both the red and blue images (mid field). Then, without looking away and loosing the 3D effect, scroll to other parts of the image that you want to look at.

Full Resolution (22822 x 5359) (23.5Mb)
Half Resolution (11411 x 2680) (7.1Mb)
One Quarter Resolution (5706 x 1340) (2.2Mb)
One Eighth Resolution (2853 x 670) (640kb)

Spirit - Bonestell Panorama - Colour Anaglyph - L234567/R123 filters

Here is a full resolution version of the Bonestell panorama in 3D. As in my previous version I have left it in the 'rover frame' so that everywhere the right and left cameras of Spirit were horizontal - this minimises the distortion when looking at it. Ignore the 'tears' in the image that are visible in the 3D terrain - this shows the limit of my processing method I'm afraid.
